Pepper Pot Day

What’s a pepper pot?
It’s a bunch of tripe, mixed with
Meat and peppercorn.

It’s Pepper Pot Day.

Card Playing Day, etc.

Have fun playing cards;
Be it Rook, Pinochle, or
Some other card game.

It’s Card Playing Day and Bingo Month.

Make Cut Out Snowflakes Day, etc.

Ain’t it a bit late,
To be cutting out snowflakes?
At least, I think so.

It’s Make Cut Out Snowflakes Day and National Fruitcake Day.

Boxing Day, etc.

Time to give boxes,
Filled with all kinds of good things,
For service people.

It’s Boxing Day and Kwanzaa.

Only 365 Shopping Days Left!

I’ve mentioned it before but the holiday season used to start after Thanksgiving.   Christmas decorations used to not go up until after Thanksgiving.  Then, it became a week or two before Thanksgiving, then just after Halloween.  Now, I’m seeing them go up before that.  If this trend keeps up, and Christmas decorations keep going up earlier and earlier, then soon we’ll be shopping for Christmas year-round.  And we’ll eventually see signs that say:

Eat some pumpkin pie;
They are delicious and sweet,
And, oh so spicy.

It’s Christmas Day and National Pumpkin Pie Day.

National Egg Nog Day, etc.

Drink up some egg nog;
You can have it plain, or spiked,
Or mixed with some milk.

It’s National Chocolate Day and National Egg Nog Day.

Roots Day

Celebrate your roots,
Or those that grow in the ground,
Or, maybe, the source.

It’s Roots Day.
